See the things I like and
read what is on my mind
Sascha Ladenius is an art and dress historian with a fascination for chintz, collage, and quiet rebellion. Her work explores the intersection of visual culture, material history, and personal curiosity, with a particular focus on the seventeenth century.
Before turning to research, Sascha built a career in real estate. Now, she builds connections between past and present, between image and intellect, and between body, space, and story.
Her research centers on the intersection of domestic space and identity — how interiors, textiles, and garments tell stories of both the visible and the hidden.
Sascha is drawn to the in-between: the lining of a jacket, the ornament on a chair leg, the faded pattern of a chintz curtain. She looks at what was considered decoration and asks what it reveals about power, taste, memory, and desire.
You might find her deep in an archive, making notes in a museum café, or dancing (quietly, rebelliously) in a gallery corner.
